To stop this thread going out of control I am going to lock it. Please see the link to the new thread concerning the battle of Shaiba.

I've run out of steam on these photos and just have a couple more observations:

#98   pg 19   -  the same C class barge shows up in this photo as in photos #94 and #96. The configuration of vessels is the same and all three photos were probably taken at the same time. Couldn't identify the location properly but based in the signal/observation tower I'm guessing Amara on the Tigris.

#85  pg 17  -  can't prove it but guessing its the same place as 94, 96, and 98.

#122 pg 26  -  Mahaila - native craft

Had a few ideas on several more but wondered if anyone else has been adding to the list?

I think not sami, I thought I had locked this thread and started another about the battle of shaiba, maybe I should start one concerning the boats.

Thank you for posting.  The photographer must have been a professional.  The quality of the shots bears this out. His camera caught pictures taken when the subjects were in motion.  There are several photos there of high rank arabs maybe shaikhs.  I presume if the backgrounds could be identified Oman for instance would love to get copies.   Sandra

F or various reasons I have decided to sell these ,and other photos I have. It was not, and is not my intention to use this forum for this purpose but I thought that I should let everyone that has had so much interaction with them know what my intentions are.

Hi,

I was hoping for permission to use some of the Indian Army specific photos on my website - www.king-emperor.com (I would have PM'd you but I'm not allowed yet). I saw this on 1914-18.net. Please do let me know, as it would be much appreciated. Full credit given etc...

(oh, and if for sale, do let me know the venue/price/etc -  PM me - hopefully I'm allowed to respond!)

Thanks,
Christopher
