Old farm names in Co. Antrim

I also am interested in old farm names -my great grand father lost his farm in 1879 it was rumoured to be called "the stannin stane" at lisboy  Ballymoney-His brother in law also lost his farm in 1879-according to his obituary it was called "the bonnie braes" at Drumabeast Ballymoney I have not been able to find any reference to them.

I've split your post so it won't get overlooked on the other thread re: farm names.

Drumbest is a townland in Kilraughts civil parish outside the town of Ballymoney. Lisboy is another townland in the same parish.

If you could tell us the surnames for the two families we might be able to post more information or suggest where you can search next.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

my great grandfather was Robert McClure of Lisboy -his farm was rumoured to have been called "the Stannin' Stane" but I have no proof of this.

The obituary of William Dickey Hart who died in Ohio 1n 1917 stated that he had a farm in Drumbest called "Bonnie Braes" Which he had lost in 1879 through no fault of his own.

You are in luck because PRONI have just recently put Griffith's Valuation revision books online. Since you know the townland it should be easy to check each book to see approximately when William Dickey Hart left Drumbest and who the next tenant/owner was.
