Census' other than 1911. Wiltshire - SWAINE
« on: Monday 29 April 13 10:16 BST (UK) »
My great great grandad is called Albert Swaine.
I can find him in the 1911 census living in Semington, Wiltshire as the widowed head of his family. Living with his children George b.1890, Ernest b.1896, Beatrice (my grandfathers mother) b.1898 and Amy b.1900.

However the whole family I can't seem to find any earlier. On FamilySearch.org I can find an Alfred Swaine marrying a Celia Bodman in Melksham in 1887 but this Alfred is born/christened in 1857.
I cant seem to find an Alfred Swaine born 1862 unless the last name changes it way of spelling ie. Swayne or Swain.

Can anyone help me, or does anyone have any information on this family?
Thanks in advance
Names: Bray, Powell, Mundy, Stevenson, Gregory, Swaine, Holloway, Shore, Merrett
Areas: Wiltshire (Melksham, Trowbridge, Bromham)

They seem to be in Semington in 1901
Albert, Celia and family transcribed Swain.
RG1929  34/11
Ages are slightly out but that was quite common.

I'm sorry you're right Ray it is Alfred Swaine. My mistake.
I'm at work and tried to type too quickly.
