McAuliffe Singleton 1812-1853
« on: Friday 26 April 13 16:23 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find some more information on my family but don't know exactly where in Cork they came from. John McAuliffe was born in 1812 and his wife, Margaret Singleton in 1817, children Mary 1842, Patrick 1844, Honora 1846 all born in Cork. They were in London by 1853. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Stiobhán

Unfortunately the dates are well before Civil Reg in 1864. I am presuming they married in Ireland and all children born here. Will take a look & see if I come up with anything. Are you presuming their birth years from maybe censuses? :)

Thank you. Yes, the birth dates are calculated from census and death records. The marriage would have been in Ireland and all those births too. The earliest record of them in London is another birth in 1853.

RootsIreland has a transcription of the 1838 church marriage record for the couple - it's pay per view...

Edited to add: Also baptisms for children John 1839, Patrick 1843, Ellen 1849.
