Georgina Manning

Georgina born 27 Jun 1902 York Co Ontario. Parents were Oliver Manning and Harriett White Georgina married Harold Frank Pickering 24 Mar 1921 York Co. Can find no burial on the OCFA site. There is a Mrs Georgina Pickering on the 1965 Voter Registration and Harold/Harold F Pickering showing up in various years as a voter but there seem to be more than one Harold F in the Toronto area. I have looked at US census with no luck. Can anyone find a hint of them?

You have a typo in the year of birth for Georgina. The birth registration at Ancestry indicates she was born in 1900.

The Mrs Georgina Pickering on the 1965 voters list has her occupation listed as bookbinder. The 1957 voters list also has a Georgina Pickering who is a bookbinder but the person living at the same address with her is named Ephraim Pickering (retired) so it would seem that is not your Georgina.

There is a family tree at RootsWeb which indicates Georgina "Jean" Pickering (nee Manning) died 3 May 1983 and Harold Franklin Pickering died 19 Aug 1950 but the tree doesn't say where. The source they give is a Butterfield researcher named Robb Gorr and I have no idea how to get in touch with him to find out what his source is.

That would be my Georgina. The Ephraim Pickering would be Georgina's father-in-law who died in 1960.

Hi,
I had a quick look in the Toronto Star.  The death dates on the family tree that Jacquie found are correct. They both died in Toronto.   Georgina's obit is in the May 7th 1983 edition, page B-07.  There is no mention of where she is buried. 

Harold's obit is in the Aug 21 1950 edition, page 23.  It says he is buried at Pine Hills Cemetery, Toronto.  I expect Georgina is there too.
