Courts in Manchester...

Hi,

I have a reference to an ancestor's address from a Trade Directory which gives it as 1 Lowe's Court, Garden Street, Manchester. I need to go to Parish records now, as he was born around 1820, but he has a common name and I'm looking for a starting point to my search. There is a Garden Street now, in Eccles. Not sure if this would be an area of courts though.

Any ideas?

Thanks Rosie. Salford is a big place though, any info on the parish/district?

I can only tell you that it is in the vicinity of Brown Street, Church Street & Walker Street

Just found out that my grandad was born at number 3 lowes court, garden street salford, on 29th august 1891 and his name was william taylor and his parents were willialm taylor and his wife Elizabeth taylor nee Irlam. They went on to have a large number of sons.
