 ;D ;D ;D ;D       Does doesn't he.

The tie does look squared off like Brownie ties - but I don't know that the cubs wore squared ties did they??  Anyhow I think the bottom of his tie is hidden.

Reckon Barbara might be correct  - maybe a naval cadet!

The reason that I thought cubs/scouts was that it looked like my old Brownie uniform - have a pic of it somewhere but wouldn't dream of posting it - I'm pulling a daft face  :-X

The bloke 2nd left is quite handsome - but he looks as if he knows he is   ;D
Ha! I have an equally lovely photo of me in my brownie uniform which will never see the light of day ;)
The bloke you mention went on to have eight children and a happy marriage -it was the one sitting down who was unlucky in love and became involved in several bigamy cases - though he wasn't the guilty party.

Could be.I just looked at my notes and Henry and his brothers volunteered to join the newly formed Naval Brigade in Wanganui in 1882.Quite possible that they were the forerunners of the modern sea scouts.

You're welcome Barbara...it always nice to know a bit about the people in the photos that we try to restore....when you spend a while working on them ..one sometimes feels one gets to know them in an odd sort of way . ;)
