John Mavor and Mary Sangster in Peterhead
« on: Saturday 20 April 13 17:26 BST (UK) »
John Mavor, butcher, was married to Mary Sangster.  They lived in Peterhead and I know only 2 sons, George Mavor (died 1869 in Kirktown) and John Mavor (married and lived in Ellon).
I would like to get marriage of John and Mary Sangster, or John's death to find out who his parents were.  Thanks so much.  Dianne

Hi Dianne

I have tried to find Johns birth for you BUT you have not given any indication as to
if you know what year he was born in.  I have a list of 20 John Mavor and their parents.
If you have some idea when he could have been born I can look at the list for you to see
who he might be.    You mention son George died in 1869 so do you know how old he
was so that I have some clue as to what year his parents John and Mary were married.
I need a little more information to find the right John Mavor as there are quite a few
families of them around different areas.

Sons George and John were born 1796 and 1800 in Peterhead. I don't know about other children. So I figure John Sr and Mary were married before 1796 and probably born in the 1770's.  That is virtually all the info I have, other than that John Sr was a butcher in Peterhead.
Thanks for any help you can give.
