Spoke to my Mum this evening as she lived in Maudlintown around the same time as your father. She did go on to say that the parents then named a subsequent son Jim (I didn't want to confirm that as I didn't know if the latter was still living or not but you've confirmed it now). 

Out of curiosity how come you're seeking info on your Grandparents when you have your Dad and numerous Uncles & Aunties to quiz??

Unfortunately they don't have a great deal of information, it seems when they were young anything in the past stayed in the past, wasn't spoken about...I guess it was a case of living in the here and now.....which is fine until you get the likes of me wanting to find out more!

Some of them may know more than I realise, but if they do the info hasn't been given to me. When I can get some sense of things I'll organise a get together and quiz them more!

another long shot. englsh census 1901 Thomas Swain born Ireland age 36 at Bolton le Moors The Saviours ,Bolton,Lancashire.
