Charles Edward Frost apparently died in Faversham 22 March 1966 as
Charles JAMES Frost age  88 ( SITTINGBOURNE   reg dist 5F    777)

then as per Susan's post
1911 census age 33 born portsmouth

1901 census living at 32, Sutcliffe Road, Plumstead London he was a boarder Examiner Explosives age 23 (added Charles Frost Born Portsmouth)

1891 census living at 48 Tewson road Plumstead London ,Father Charles and now wife Elizabeth Ann nee Stafford children  Charles J age 12, Mabel age 7 Elizabeth j age 6 months
ADDED Father Charles age 45 (General Labourer bn Taunton, Somerset)
Wife Elizabeth age 28 bn Plumstead.
Charles jnr & Mabel both bn Gosport.

So his name has changed again 

Without knowing details from his marriage to Joanna I can't confirm it is the right track but the birth reg for the James C Frost on the 1881 I found would most likely be this one

Knightroots the online parish clerk for Hampshire has some transcriptions for Alverstoke.  I couldn't see a baptism for Charles but found this daughter of Charles & Elizabeth

As there is no christening for him at the same church as Mabel (as above)  the best thing to do would be order the birth cert

Thanks for that Elizabeth FROST died 1884 nee stagg first wife died
But the charles james FROST must have been another child that died that I didnt know about
