I am trying to find the birth of a Dorothy Eleanor Randall, whose death certificate records that she was born on 25 May 1891 in Bidborough, Kent. Her first marriage was to a Richard Henry Tate but we cannot trace this marriage. It may have been in Australia since this is where her child was born.  The marriage certificate for her second marriage, as Dorothy Eleanor Tate to Cecil Petley (Oct 16th 1919 in Deal) gives her fathers name as Charles Randall, a farmer. I would be very grateful for any help that anyone can give. This is my brick wall!!

There is no record of a Tate - Randall, Marriage ,Western Australia between 1914 -1919, but there are 14 Tate Baptisms recorded there.

Many thanks. I have this. This is possibly when she went Australia although her daughter Pamela said she was born in Australia on 9 Jan 1913. The birth was apparently not registered. Pamela's father is named on her marriage certificate as Richard Henry Tate.

There is no birth in the indexes for that name in Kent around 1891.

The Dorothy E. Randall travelling to Australia in 1914 seems to have been travelling with Kate Randall (age 30, florist) and Edith Randall (age 25, typist). Kate and Edith are perhaps daughters of a Frederick (greengrocer) and Alice Randall from London.
