Edwin Arthur Conquest, born 1870, died 1938

Hi,
I've discovered that Edwin Arthur Conquest, my great uncle, died, according to his probate record, on 12 April 1938, at LMS Railway Station, Isham, Northamptonshire.  The family story is that he fell from a train, but we have no other details.
Is there any way of finding out more?  I assume there must have been an inquest, and wonder whether this would have been reported in a local newspaper.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

A copy of his death certificate will confirm (or not) the family story; if there was an inquest it will give the date when it was held and the name of the coroner. If you are lucky the coroner's records will be at the county archives; if not then there's a chance it was reported in the local press.

Thanks for your reply.  Yes I think I might send for his death certificate, I haven't done that so far, as he is not in my direct line, but my curiosity has been aroused.

Thanks for the link to the MI, Priscilla.  I hadn't seen that before.  I did try Googling him, but didn't find anything I didn't know already.  Thank you for the suggestion though.

Thank you all so much for this he was my great uncle also, I'm still trying to find the death off his sister Katharine conquest , I know she came back from Canada and lived at Barton hall but that's all
