Carol - My experience was restricted to not receiving replies to my e-mails. It was my distant cousin and her friend who I thought had had the bad experience at the Bereavement Service offices.
However, I've just re-read her e-mail which says that she did get a reply "at last" which showed that having checked all the records i.e. Northern Eastern Western, Hedon Road and cremations they couldn't find any trace of the ancestors, they suggested the grave could be in a disused cemetery in Hull. My distant cousin thinks the grave should be in Northern Cemetery her parents, (still alive who knew our mutual ancestors, well of course her father is also an ancestor) seem to remember the burials were there. She got in touch regarding looking at the records but was told they only allow viewings on a Tuesday - when she is at work.

As she works for the council she asked if she could see the records on a different day but was told NO (as she put in her e-mail). Hence she decided to try the new History Centre.
