Elaine, whilst researching a 3D model I created the other day, I happened on this thread. This is the "Charles Stead Booth" memorial in St James Church yard. I've also created another 3D model of the monument lid, which makes some of the inscription easier to read. Unfortunately, there's been some delamination and not all the inscription can be read though. I can make out the dates 1790 and 1800, the names William and Mary.

Somewhere I have Elaine's private e mail address!
I went with Elaine to Tong whilst she and her family were over, the grave you indicated I wove a bit of magic on it prior to being photographed.  :)
[Arkansas sand heat dried was used, very fine sand a bit like brown salt, sprinkled over which bring out all the inscription on the face]
All remains brushed off on completion!

Thanks Brian. Glad you were able to read the inscription....I've used a similar method with snow when trying to work out motifs on prehistoric rock art :)

We had an opportunity to visit several Cemeteries in the area in August 2015. I was able to see and photo grave the stones for Charles Stead Booth and Family. I agree The Tong stone is unreadable.

What you have is the stone for William & Mary Booth, parents of Charles Stead Booth, William Booth and Mary Booth.  Both parents and the children William and Mary are buried there - see reference and original transcription from 1928 below. Son Charles Stead Booth and his family are buried in the New Wortley Cemetery.: West Yorkshire, England, Deaths and Burials, 1813-1985, born abt 1812 age 74, burial date 7 June 1886, parish of New Wortley, West Yorkshire, England Plot #4392 with wife Rachel.   New Wortley Cemetery, New Wortley, Leeds, West Riding, Yorkshire, England, photo found on http://www.yorkshireindexers.co.uk - gallery, monuments

It looks to be a different inscription. The dates on this appear to be 1790 and 1800, there's also clear mention of pudsey.
