not sure what sort of details you have already... have you found them on census records to see ages, or where they were born, records of death or burial ?

There are more details on their marriage you didn't mention-

Christopher's residence at the time of his marriage in 1866 was 40 Meath St., his parents names were Owen and Martha, and both seem to be alive and also living at 40 Meath St.. Catherine's residence was 76 Pill Lane and her parents were Charles & Rosanna - again both seem to have been alive at the time and lived at 76 Pill Lane.

One of the witnesses, a Francis Finegen also lived at the Pill Lane address, and the address of Catherine Gallagher, the other witness appears to be 11 Stirrup Lane ?

Given the fact that both sets of parents are living in the city it seems possible that Christoper & Catherine may have been born in, or a least near, to the city.

p.s. note address of Christoper & Catherine at the time of Esther's baptism is also 76 Pill Lane.

Shane thank you so much  :) :)

I could not find any more children for Christopher May and Catherine Clifford only Esther May as above. Could not find anything on census So with plenty of 2nd marriages now seems to be a trend in all my family research. Had a look at their daughter Esther May married a Rooney on the 1901 census and who should only pop up next door to them a John Rooney who was son of Esther and guess what there is a Catherine Carey living there whom I done a bit of research on
 Census 1901
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Inns_Quay/Chancery_Street/1278850/
I know Catherine is stating she is 40 but that could be so wrong as we all know people either did not their age or just guessed their age for the census .

Marriage of a Catherine May 3/5/1873 to James Carey

I have checked the marriage of Catherine May to James Carey 3/5/1873 and listed on the marriage page is the names Catherine May and Catherine Clifford. I have found a death for a Christopher May in 1867 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FR57-6PN.
I am now wondering did Catherine May nee Clifford remarry to James Carey

I am presuming that Catherine's parents were Charles Clifford and Rosanna Hoey based on this baptism of a Charles Clifford:

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/46f9af0385016

This looks to be a possible brother of Catherine's called Laurence

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/61311d0083598

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/d147120247440

This looks to be a possible brother of Catherine's called John

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/ddbb320084446

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/e240f60238415

This looks to be a possible brother of Catherine's called Christopher

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/9abbeb0381864

This looks to be a possible sister of Catherine's called Margaret

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/21c68e0383721

If you look on irishgenealogy.ie there is also a Mary Clifford who married a Patrick Harte....she appears to be Catherine's sister too and indeed a Catherine Carey is the godmother at the baptism of one of Mary Clifford Harte's children

Lastly then Catherine's baptism !

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/8632020248498

Please double check all of the above !

Thanks a million for your help :)

I have found the exact same records that you have posted re Catherine Clifford .
There is a death for Christopher May on Glasnevin cemetery in 1867 will have to purchase this one.

Looks like Christopher Mays' parents are Owen May and Rosanna/Roseanna Hoey thanks to yourself and Shane.

In terms of how this means to my father it means there is now an extended family due to Catherine Clifford remarrying :)

One thing is puzzling me on Catherine's second marriage to James Carey her mother is listed as Catherine Clifford,  instead of Rosanna Clifford
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/a410b70084047

and first marriage to Christopher May parents are Charles and Rosanna
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/b396160083155

Interesting again or could this be an error in the records.

Many thanks and Regards to all for their help on this topic  :) :) :)
