I had a very frustrating time attempting to cancel my Ancestry sub which was due for renewal on 30 May. Deciding to cancel in plenty of time I went in search of the "cancel subscription" button which Ancestry direct you to in their Help section.
Easy you may think...NO because there is no such option where they say it is! After going around in circles on their website I found you could email them-it opens a new page with the email and a variety of questions/ options but no actual email addy. Tried the obvious (one which they had mailed me from when I subscribed) only to find it wasn't recognised. By this time I was beside myself with rage!
I finally decided I had no choice but to telephone them, I didn't really want this option to begin with as I hate speaking to call centres. However, the guy I spoke to was helpful and I was given a cancellation number to note down and I received a confirmation email the following day stating my sub would finish at the end of May.
I bought Family Treemaker 2012 World Edition last year because it had 6 month Worldwide access free subscription to Ancestry at a cost of £64.00. I've gathered as much info and documentation as I could during this time...now I need to organise it all!
