I'd be interested if you have any tips for looking for family later than 1911c, is it just a case of finding the best certificate indexes and be lucky when buying them? I've got 3 great aunts, all single in the 1911c and i'd like to try and complete their lines if i can.

Jun qtr 1885: Bessie Louisa (Portsea Island)
Dec qtr 1887: Eleanor Mabel (Portsea Island)
Sep qtr 1895: Florence May (Portsea Island)

appreciate any help thanks neil

when you have a not too common name then look up poss marriage then look up death reg to see if it fits with birth reg

Children b Sept qtr 1912 onwards have Mother's maiden name given -so that helps

Possible marriage for Bessie Louisa

Jun qtr 1919
Wandsworth Surrey
Bessie Louis Perry
Leslie W Quick
1d 1630

Death reg
Bessie Louisa Quick
age 72
Mar qtr 1958
Portsmouth
6b 638

maybe Bessie was widowed young

Death reg
Leslie W Quick
age 38
Jun qtr 1932
Portsmouth
2b 725

of course certificates would prove (or disprove) it

(maybe their marrying in Wandsworth had something to do with the war?

Looks like Eleanor remained a spinster?

Death reg
Eleanor M Perry
age 73
Dec qtr 1960
Portsmouth
6b 532

Suz
Thornhill, Cresswell, Sisson, Harriman, Cripps, Eyre, Walter, Marson, Battison, Holmes, Bailey, Hardman, Fairhurst Noon-mainly in Derbys/Notts-but also Northampton, Oxford, Leics, Lancs-England

Hi a very belated thanks for that, i must have missed this thread somewhere along the way.

With regards to the Quick marriage, there were a number of children born quick mmn perry between the marriage and his early death, but only one in portsmouth, the other's have no location link to wandsworth.  I will contact portsmouth cemeteries for any burial/Mi info on the parents to see what they have.
i wondered if there was any more info available to be sure it's theirs?
the index says   Mary E W Quick 4th qtr 1927 mmn Perry  bn portsmouth

i've followed the family line down from mary but can find no family trees to help me.

actually can i add a couple of bessie and eleanor's nieces, there was a probate in ealing which looked possible but the age was out by 4 years. any further info on these two would be great. Parents are edward thomas perry & maud elizabeth tollervey
Dorothy maud perry bn 4th qtr 1901 @ portsmouth, is on 1911c in pompey
Gladys Perry no birth index, 1911c says aged 5 bn portsmouth

appreciate any help thanks
