COMPLETED - Help with Ellen Catterall Eccles please

A close family friend has recently died who has no living relatives.  We have been unable to trace if, when her mother Ellen Catterall Eccles passed away in 1983 in Blackpool, any cemetery plot was purchased in which to inter Ellen's remains or ashes.  We feel that her daughter should be there with her if such a plot exists.  Please, as a matter of urgency, is anyone able to check records as recent as 1983 for Ellen Catterall Eccles final resting place?  We live the other end of the country so it's not possible to get to the area to instigate a search and I've drawn a blank on-line.

Ellens death was registered in the Sefton RD in the September qtr 1983 - she was 89.  This RD did not cover Blackpool so Ellen could not have died in Blackpool

Sefton RD covered a number of areas but any burial/cremation could have been at Thornton or Southport or at Ford if the family were RC religion

If her daughter is to be cremated - her ashes can be held by the undertaker or other guardian until such time as details of her mothers death are established which will give you some breathing space

Do you know Ellen's exact date of death?

Sefton is Merseyside -
added...apologies ...just thought ...she may have died in Blackpool ( Nursing Home etc ) but may have had her death registered in Sefton ....by a relative / next of kin ??...I can only presume she was buried or cremated in the Sefton area

Thanks for your very prompt reply Allan, just a coincidence I think (hope) but the solicitor has just phoned to confirm the will states her ashes are to be scattered in a garden of remembrance, so this is now a very redundant query!

OK...was she born Ellen Catterall Shorrock dec qtr 1893 ?
married Mark Eccles sep qtr 1920 ...both events in Blackburn ....
so your family friends dad,  Mark Eccles death is registered dec qtr 1944 aged 59 in Fylde ...so he is in Blackpool ...just being nosey - is the Garden of Rememberance in Blackpool ?
