Do you have any idea when and/or where Frederick and/or Kate died or where they were last known to be living?

Ah, partly answered my own question here ;)

Kate HARDING (wife of Frederick HARDING so suggesting he was still alive then) of 128 Kingsnorth Rd, Ashford died 4 May 1951 Ashford Hospital.  Probate to Reginald George HODGES draughtman and Sydney William SLINGSBY tobacconist.

No sign of a second name for Frederick still :-\

I was going to say perhaps they were buried together and that it might be worth checking for burials/monumental inscriptions and perhaps obituaries but I couldn't immediately see a death for him in the Ashford area :-\

Yes, my parents probably have this information and the certificates but I cannot contact them at present. I have a feeling that Frederick Harding died after the 2nd WW in Hastings, Sussex. I did not know some of this information so thank you. Sydney William Slingsby was my grandfather whom Ann Elizabeth Harding married.

Yes, he died in Hastings :)

Frederick HARDING of 46 Edmund Rd, Hastings died 24 March 1955.  Probate granted to Joseph Edward PAPPS warrant officer HM army who I take to be his son in law.  His age in the death registers is given as 77 so being born March 1877 to March 1778 and consistent with his age (33 ie. born Apr 1877 to Apr 1878) in the 1911 census.  Again, no sign of a second name.
