hi all
His name Alexander Mackenzie born 1879 old monkland and in 1918 it is written that he was frequently at HMS Vernon, does this pic support this ? what else can be told ?

Looks like one of the Royal Naval Divisions Battalions cap badges

Does the date of birth on this record match his?
Admiralty and War Office: Royal Naval Division: Records of Service (Microfiche Copies). Name McKenzie, Alexander. Service Number(s): R/2248. Rank or Rating: Ordinary Seaman, Able Seaman . Date of Birth: 11 July 1879.

The RND did not wear cap badges until the second half of the war when they went to France so that helps to date it.

he was drafted to anson battalion in july 1917 so that would help confirm who i believe this is
