seems his wife died in Canada so she did go....(somehow!)

Alice Marion Nicholls died 11 February 1962, aged 78 in Vancouver

She is travelling (typically) as MRS Nicholls.....on board the 'Ionian' arriving on 15 October 1911 in Quebec

with 2 year old Grahame and her sister Hope Park, all going to Vancouver.

William Percy must have gone over to pave the way for them..

it was Grahame with an "E" that did it .

Grahame William Nicholls died 19 December 1972 at Vancouver, buried on 31 January 1973 at Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver.  He was in the Masonic section so there may be some records around for that too.

He was a Bank Messenger in 1963 living at 2915 Forty Third Avenue, Vancouver South.  There was a Mrs Dorothy Nicholls living there so presumably she was his wife.

There is a Dorothy Nicholls dying in 1992 (buried 2 May) in Mountain View as well that could be his wife.  Actually, same grave, so it is.

All this is so great folks! Thank you so much. I had seen him on that Passenger List but was put off because he appeared to be Scottish! I shall enjoy looking through all this

There is a Gilbert Nicholls living in Vancouver South in 1949 - also at 2915 Forty Third Avenue (family home?!) with a Mrs W P Nicholls (must be Alice) and William Percy misspelt at W P Nicholas. 

Gilbert seems to be a Medical Technician and there is also another G Nichols, Machinist, living with them (wife of Gilbert or another brother or sister?)

Gilbert's middle initial seems to be "P" and his wife seems to be called Alexa J.  They lived at 2929 Forty Third Avenue in 1962 with Graham and Dorothy at 2915 Forty Third Avenue

This is all fantastic which Sites do you use for gaining info? I'm a bit of a learner. I'm also looking for records for my GGrandfather, Otto Frederick Wilhelm Gebauer. He was born in Landesberg, Germany 1878 and I'd like to find out when he arrived in England. My Grandma was born illegitimately in 1902 in Manor Park area and her Mother never married Otto who was a Hairdresser and had a Brother Paul, also a Hairdresser. Otto married someone else in 1905 and died in 1945 and as far as I know there were no other Children. Have I posted this on the right place?!

You may be best copying the post as a new topic into the general England/London (if you mean the Manor Park in London) forum or into Europe so it will just disappear if it gets buried under the Nicholls ones  but stick to posting it in one place (London is probably best) as duplicate threads get confusing

Most of that information is coming off Ancestry.ca (or .co.uk).

Gilbert Percy Nicholls died 23 January 1995.  He lived in Victoria, BC at the time of his death
