Robinson Suffolk 1859 (and before)
« on: Monday 01 April 13 08:36 BST (UK) »
Alfred Maurice ROBINSON was born in Boxford ( I think) about 1859.  He married Alice Margaret CORKER from Islington around 1884 and from then on they lived in Islington London where all their 5 children were born.
I am looking for information about Alfred and/or Alice and their ancestors whom I assume are from the Suffolk area about which I know very little.
[I do not live in the UK.]

The banns of their marriage in 24 Feb 1884 at Canonbury St Paul in Islington list Alfred as Alfred Maurice Edgar Robinson with father Thomas(sorry should be William) Robinson (ag lab) and Alice Margaret s father as Edmund Corker (deceased)) Mick- Man? (I suppose more likely to be Milkman)

The census details posted by Kay99 would seem to be the right family although father shown as William not Thomas.

In 1871 and 1881 Alfred shown as born Groton where they'd been living, rather than Boxford, but by 1881 the family had moved from Suffolk to Islington - ref. RG11 - 261 - 80 - 47.

Alfred's birth reg'd as plain Alfred Sept.1859 Cosford regn. district.

Apologies - the marriage posted in1884 should have had the father listed as William Robinson.  For info Groton is the village next door to Boxford.
