Hi Dathai
Thanks for your reply
I purchased the full record a while ago, it was the image record that gave a lot of info in relation to Frederick Rooney, (which I downloaded saved but I didn't save the other part of the record) so I don't have access to this record anymore but from another Rooney record I purchased who died well after Frederick, their grave seems to have been a shared grave/common grave as they would say, the family would have lived in tenements in Dublin City so they would prob not have a family grave. Any further help is so much appreciated.

Hi genseacher,

I have been researching my Rooney family too. I was very surprised to read your post today as we seemed to be distantly related. You are a bit further ahead then me. Charles Rooney was my GG Grandad. He was baptised in St Paul's on Arran Quay, which is why the record does not show up on 'irishgenealogy.ie/'. You probably already know you can get the St Paul's records from 'http://www.rootsireland.ie/'. Many of the Rooney family records are from St Pauls. Reading your posts have answered some of my questions too. thank you.

Hi Jervis

Does the name Marianne McCarthy or Mary Anne McCarthy mean anything to you as it has comes up on registered births and she is listed as grandmother on

Mary Elizabeth Rooney b 1864 and John Rooney B 1865

who were siblings your Charles Rooney B 1859
and would also be grandmother to Charles.

Hi,

No I don't know who it is. That is a good spot, i looked at those records recently and did not pick up the reference to "grandmother".

I guess that it is Frederick Rooney's mother as Theresa Moore's mother was a Theresa Sharpe.
And I guess she re-married a man name McCarthy.
