Just found that one too Keyboard86 - I'd say that looks like her in 1851 at Back Street, Huncote (there are Bridge Street address' on the same Census Page)

For Ref the 1841 was : Elizabeth POOL 25, F.S. - Y
One of a number of Servants in  the Household of the Cosby Vicarage, Narborough

Still not fishing her out of 1881   8)

Cheers

Hard to say, isn't it  ???

Can't see her in 1881 - and I've even wide searched for anyone born in Huncote of any age  living anywhere in England. I keep finding her (presumed) brother, William SEWELL and his wife Mary (even on the wide wide search) who are still there but Elizabeth isn't with or near them.

Hi All. Thank you for all your effort. I think you may have cracked it.
I have a dim and distant memory of Frederick Pole from years ago but I think I dismissed him because I thought I had Elizabeths death as being 1838 which I now know was incorrect. I think you are right in him being Richards brother. So now to John Pole. The John Pole that was married to a Mitilda  is not my John Pole. He was a brewer and beer seller ,he was also convicted of fighting assult and selling beer out of hours at various times.( News Paper records)
My John Pole I think spent a lot of time in and out of Prison for larcony and causing a riot. This is the Portsea and Portsmouth connection.Portsea was a prison.
I am still going through everything else in your posts so I will get back to you again tomorrow
Thanks again

Hi again everyone.
I have gone through all the replies from yesterday and I have confirmed all of what is in the posts except the Navy record. I don't think that is anything to do with my family. I also cannot find Elizabeth Pole or her husband on any 1881 census. I have been searching for John Pole in 1881 for years and have not found a thing. He was in prison in 1871 and in 1891 both in Portsea so I assume he was also in there in 1881. If John Pole was in prison it would explain why her 2 sons are living with relatives and she was working .

Thanks for all your help

Sometimes prisoners were put  on census forms  only  by   initials  ,  rather than full names ,   but no  doubt  you've gone down that route !

Hi,
I have found Elizabeth Pole in 1881. She is with the same family the Ortons but they are in Wales . Martha Sewell is also there. Rhuddlan ,Flintshire. East Parade Plastirion Terrace. RG11 Piece 5528 Folio57 pg 9. I also think I may have found her husband in Portsea Prison but I think his age is listed wrong.it says age 56 when it should be 69 but it has him as a Pensioner . So this needs a little more work.

Thanks for your help. This is now complete.

Well done on finding her in 1881 in Wales ;D  ;D

"Pensioner" would indicate ex-soldier or ex-navy, I would say.

Do you know for sure the man in prison, is your John POLE though?

Cheers
