One of my ancestors was a bit of an enigma in that he was a Primitive Methodist preacher as a young man and later on was the landlord of the Anchor in Northbrook St., Newbury.
He died in 1928 and his obituary in the Newbury Weekly News says ".. he scarcely missed a Sunday at the PSA." There was also a wreath from the Newbury PSA.
Does anyone know what this was or is as despite extensive research I am none the wiser.
