Photo from Wishaw, Scotland
« on: Thursday 21 March 13 23:39 GMT (UK) »
Here is a photo taken in Wishaw, Scotland before 1928.  Does anyone know who this might be.  It was in my grandfather's sea chest.  He left Scotland for the last time in 1928.  I have about 20 more of these nameless photos.  I would be willing to mail the original to anyone who can id the individual.  I am assuming that given the age of the photo, it is not covered by any UK copyright.  If there is a problem, please let me know and I will remove it quickly.

Isn't it a shame that this handsome chap is nameless.
I've got a lovely studio portrait of a woman taken at a studio at Crossmyloof in Glasgow (probably around 1900). I've no idea who she is but she obviously was important to my grandfather who kept her photo along with other family pictures till his death at 90 in 2001. I just wish he'd shown me it when I was young and told me who she was.
I now write a caption on the back of photos I have.
Hope someone names and claims your man.
Regards,
looby

Hello,
What was your Grandfather's surname??  A lot of us have Scottish forbears that came from the Wishaw area (mine are Robertsons from Cambusnethan), but no photos, so a name might help us see some likeness to us, real or imagined.   Or maybe your Grandfather could be related!
Cheers

My grandfather's last name was Rutherford.  He and his family lived in and around Wishaw area for many years.  His wife's maiden name was McKenzie, also from the same area.  Other family surnames are McKay (from Lochcarron, originally) and Neilson (or Nelson).  I do still have long-distant relatives in the area but my contacts passed with my mothers passing.  My mom and her four brothers left Wishaw (Overton actually) with my grandfather for the US in 1928.  I hope this helps.

Do you have any pictures of the men in Army uniform please?
