These are the only VAUGHANs in my database. It is a relatively small family:

HAM Weyhill bp9/10/1881 (b27/5 Basingstoke) Florence d/o William/Emma VAUGHAN, trav of W., regular home: Southampton

NTS Towcester br26/8/1728 (d25/6) Margaret VAUGHAN, a trav (from Cheshire)

1871STF-2876/24/41 Mary Ann FINNEY [née VAUGHAN] (35) pt.mkr +5

1881DBY-3429/142/34 Bartholomew FINNEY (50) gn.dlr, Mary [née VAUGHAN] (47) +7

1881HRF-2594/104/83 Charles VAUGHAN (49) hkr, Sarah (46) +3

1881HRF-2594/104/83 Rosanna WILLIAMS [née VAUGHAN] (19) +3

I am happy to look up my database for any information. I deal in facts and you need facts if you are doing genuine research. If the surname is for a small family I can provide all that I have. If it is for the larger families it will be necessary to narrow it down by place, name and date. I have worked on the most important families in great detail.

Thank you.

I actually have no evidence that the Vaughn for whom I was looking was part of a travelling family - I was trying to explore all avenues for a friend. His father was born in London, mother called Sarah Vaughn, and we cannot find Sarah at all. However, the year before his birth, the 1901 census shows his father as working in a circus, so we wondered if Sarah was also connected in some way to the circus.

Very pleased to see this post, I have traveller Vaughan's but I didnt associate the name as being very 'traveller' compared to other names. Didnt really know where to look, as there are/were masses in Wales. Mine are from South Wales, round Bridgend and Newport areas.
Casaubon (Geneva, London), Daulinge, Berners, McMullen (Nottingham), Tabb (Leics), Mycock (Derbys & Staffs), Gilbert (Notts), Price (s Wales), Krilovs/similar, gypsy Roberts, gypsy Clark, Bexell (Sussex), gypsy Elliott, Raven, Neligan (Co Kerry), Rymer, Newton (Hull).
