Tricky.

Only just come across this thread.  My initial though when seeing the first two pics posted by P U was that both these were of the same man.  This was before I'd seen the pics that followed.

Scrolling down I then saw carons 2 pics and thought that each of were of different men because a slight difference in the set of the eyes and face shape.

Comparing P U's two with caron's two I would tend to agree with Carol that Nos 1 and 4 are the same man and nos 2 and 3 are of a different, though related man.

Thanks for your comments Maggie and Treetotal, but I am not sure where that takes Caron and I
with differing opinions as to who the man is.
I can confirm without question that my two photos (1&2) are of my Gt Grandfather George Judge b 1853.These were given to me by his daughter, my Nan.I think the photos were taken about 10 to 12 years apart. Then when I saw Carons two pictures (3&4) recently on the Horse Artillery Topic,
I thought WoW! thats my Gt Granddad! But how did they (3&4) get into someone else's photo album?
My thoughts on this and its only a guess. Did Mary Ann Gould, who lived in Southwark, George's girlfriend/fiance/wife to be,(my Gt Grandmother) give these photos to one of her brothers or sisters, which over the next 100 years or so eventually found their way to Caron? I guess I'd better start reseaching!
Thanks  P U

thanks for your comments.  PU it may be useful to get a copy of his military papers, I think another roots chatter helped get me get these from Ancestry. The papers  did say his height, and hair and eye colour, I know from the papers that the person I believe is William Munday was 5 ft five with brown hair and hazel eyes.  If you can find information on your ancestor, and he is a different height then that may help determine whether he is the same man as mine.

I also check to see if Georges Wife may be related to my family, but she was a spinster at marriage and she has a different surname to my family.

Looking at the Military photos  I think they are two different men,,,  Very close in looks  maybe brothers !  Same uniform but one gentleman is obviously slimmer as the front decoration  is  pulled tighter ! Hes maybe taller and younger!
