Thumpston family descendants Salford/Manchester U.K

I am looking for any descendants of James Thumpston and wife MaryAnn Smith Married 27th May 1838. Manchested Parish Church,( they were my GGG Grand parents) they immigrated to Australia with a 2 year old son Joseph Temperly Thumpston (my GG Grandfather) on the ship Georgiana in1840 from Liverpool.arriving at Port Phillip Bay on the 19th February 1841 after a perilous journey.The family left Melbourne and moved to country Victoria, Wangaratta district.

Have you viewed the Will for a Joseph THUMPSTON, farmer of Peechelba?,
If this is the correct Joseph he has 10 children noted on the will.
Death date 22.8.1919

I have a family tree for Thumpstone/Thompstones in Cheshire from 1650.
I don't have your link but guess it is the same family.
I have a friend who is a living "nee Thompstone" with some Australian relatives

Here is an obit for the wife of Joseph Thumpston (Sarah Jane Thumpston)  in case you don't have it.  There is quite a bit of family info there.

Hi Leanne, thank you for your reply, yes you have the right Joseph Thumpston (he was my Grandfather) died in 1919 buried in the Wangaratta Cemetery Vic, My mother was born 1919 only a few weeks after his death.

I have a Sarah Thumpston born 1844 who is the twin of James (he died 1883).  Sarah married William John Wright 25 Jan 1861, Trinity Church, Wangaratta.  Sarah died 1883 in Jamieson (registration district) and William John Wright died 29 Nov 1885.  I have William and Sarah's marriage certificate and one of the witnesses was Joseph Timperley Thumpston, her father is noted as James Thumpston (Bushman) and mother Mary Ann Thumpston nee Smith.  I have information on the Wright family if you are interested.......Sandra
