Minor update - it would seem that Daniell had another son in 1682 (between Josias and Elizabeth). I can't find a birth record, but I have found a record of death for a Phillip Ballamy, son of Daniel in Landrake with St Erney in 1682. This makes sense in terms of the gap between Josias and Elizabeth - there just had to be at least one other child.
