Pring family St Clement Danes Westminster.
« on: Monday 18 March 13 10:40 GMT (UK) »

I am tracking the Pring family in Westminster and have got to Joseph Pring bpt St Clement Danes July 1774, son of John Pring and Mary.

The only marriage I can find is John P and Mary Rust 26 July 1759 which seems unlikely as the children are born 1774-1782.

And no sign of where John came from ....

Any help gratefully received...

hi
Surrey Marriage allegation 5.4.1769 John Pring and Mary Greathead.
John Pring widower of St Saviour Southwark and Mary spinster same parish may be yours.
St Saviour records are quite badly faded and virtually illegible so not surprising if it's not indexed
anywhere.
Also a baptism for a possible daughter Mary 21.7.1759 st St George Bloomsbury to John and Mary.So 2 wives called Mary ?
The Pring surname seems to come from Devon area.

Me again
Had a look at the voters list for St Clement's
John Pring 1/1/1774 to 1805  at Clare St /Yeates St(all alley of) tripeman on the voters lists.
Replaced by a Thomas Pring in 1806 at same address ,may well be worth looking for a will.
Also William Pring 1/1/1749 jeweler Eagle St.
London lives website has various documents for him from 1770.
Does London have a guild of Butchers, they might have records for him?
And FindMyPast has 2 burials 1804/1806 which might be him at St Clement Danes. Can't check if they give an age because I don't have a sub.
