I'm sorry, but requests for look-ups in this census are not allowed on RootsChat.

However, there are plenty of suggestions and advice on this thread:

Why is this now that Findmypast no longer has an exclusive on 1911? Genes Reunited, admittedly in the same group of companies as Findmypast, and Ancestry both have it. Shouldn't this rule be revisited now?

SianW appears to have found the entry on Ancestry where she's submitted a correction as it was transcribed there as Dickisson rather than Nickisson

That's because I posted nothing more than the full reference (which I found on Ancestry, not FindMyPast) - but it was still zapped by the moderator.  No use without a sub to one or other of the pay sites  :-[

Regardless of the the terms and conditions of any other sites,
RootsChat's own position - under guidance from the owners -
is that no 1911 census look-up requests are allowed.

Assistance is limited to what may be found in the FREE indexes.

"under guidance from the owners"  - the owners of what; Rootschat; the 1911 census, or Findmypast?

I read the 2009 ban on look ups when Findmypast had an exclusive on the 1911. It's now 2013

Our position - under guidance from the management of Rootschat - is that we cannot allow look-ups for the 1911 census either to be requested or offered.

This census is exclusively available online and anyone responding to a request or offering a look-up is technically breaking the terms and conditions of their subscription with whichever provider which all state that it is for personal use only.

Remember that the index can be searched free of charge. RootsChat has a thread which gives a lot of helpful suggestions about getting the best from the free index and users should always point others in the direction of this topic :

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,492718.0.html

Any information that the moderators see that cannot possibly be obtained from the free index is likely to be deleted e.g. number of years married, number of children born to the couple

The following still remain in place:

You may NOT

post full images;
post screen-shots of 1911 site which include the transcription or search results;
copy and paste transcriptions;
make overt look-up requests - you may find it removed without warning;
offer unwanted images to others.

Any images and transcriptions that are found will be removed.

This not open to further discussion at present.

Best wishes,
