1891 Look up Please, Johnson
« on: Friday 08 March 13 14:09 GMT (UK) »

William John Johnson married Annie Elizabeth Stewart in the Jan/Feb/March Q of 1900
On the 1901 Census this family were in Tottenham:

William John Johnson 28yrs Ocupation: Warehouseman (Drapery) b. Holloway
Annie Elizabeth, (Née Stewart) 25yrs b. Lambeth
William Stewart, 2 months b. Tottenham
Residing at 4, Everitt Villas, Siddons Road, Tottenham
Census Ref RG13/1247/180/27.

However, I'm unable to find William John Johnson on the 1891 Census, when presumably he would still be living at home with his parents, - either in Holloway or Tottenham I would think.

Can anyone on here see him please?
Cheers, Romilly.

It's almost bound to be William...

And so that won't help either!

Gosh, - that's a possibility I hadn't considered Jennifer.

It could explain why I'm having such difficulty finding him...

Many Thanks for finding that!

Have tried to tie in the Brett family, but have only managed to find the marriage for John Brett & Mary Priscilla Smith 2/7/1861 St.Barnabas Homerton Hackney.

Both give a Homerton address, so I can not yet see any connection to Holloway?

I guess that it depends on where he's a 'Boader' from... i.e. whether it's a private arrangement or via an institution. I believe that the Foundling Hospital had 'boarding out' arrangements for example. But I'm sure that someone on here will know more about it than I do!

Hmmm... Peel Road Woodford Essex was a large Gypsy encampment at the time of the 1881 Census. (I found it on a Gypsy message board by Googling the name of the road & 1881). There's a thought!!
