Hi,
Is there anyone able to view the parish records of Vernham Dean? Andover library and Hampshire record office are a fair way for me to travel  :(

I would like to know if there is a parent listed on the death record of the following children:

Mary Ann Bath (born  about Dec 1856) Died 12 Jan 1857.
George Bath (born Jan 1852) Died 7 Jan 1852.

I believe these are the death records of two illigitimate children of Charlotte Bath b1830 Vernham Dean.

Any help appreciated.
Thank you

Hi

Members of the public do not have access to information on death certs or birth certs.  Only marriages can be looked up in parish records
Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Ok perhaps i wasn't clear in my request. I am after someone who may have the micro fiche records or a transcription of the Vernham Dean parish records who may be able to look up the burial (not death cert) of the two children.

Burials sometimes have ages on the records or even if lucky, a name of a relative.

Tidgy,

I don't have access to burial details but I can confirm that Charlotte Bath had three children baptised in Vernham Dean, all of whome had no father's name given.

Mary Ann daughter of Charlotte Bath bpt 29 Dec 1856 priv, illeg
George son of Charlotte Bath  bpt 3 Jan 1852 baseborn
Mary Jane dau of Charlotte Bath bap 25 Dec 1854

Hope this helps,

Tim

Hi All,

This mystery has now been solved thanks to the research done by Dee-Jay.

Charlotte Bath b1833 in Linkenholt to William and Susanna Bath
Married Richard Richardson 1858 - Vernham Dean
Fathers recorded: William Bath and Joseph Richardson

Children:
Mary Jane Bath b1854 (illegitimate) - Vernham Dean
Emily Richardson b1858 - Vernham Dean
George Richardson b1861 - Shalbourne
Ann Richardson b1863 - Shalbourne
William Richardson b1866 - Shalbourne
Frank Richardson b1869 - Shalbourne
Edwin Richardson b 872 - Fosbury
Arthur Richardson b1874 - Fosbury
Alice Richardson b1876 - Fosbury
Harriett Richardson b1878 - Fosbury

The family can be found on the 1861 census where Jane is recorded with the surname Richardson.
1861 Pearce’s, Shalbourne, Berks RG9 723 folio 123 page 18 [Fosbury Ecclesiastic District]

Daughter Mary Jane (known as Jane) married George Richardson b1848 (nephew of Richard Richardson above)
in Fosbury 1874 and Jane's sister Emily is a witness.

This family is not to be confused with another Charlotte Bath b1830 in Vernham Dean to parents James and Ann.

I hope this helps anyone researching the same line and thank you again dee-jay for your invaluable help.
