Welcome to Rootschat - have a look at the April Challenge and you'll get the idea of what we're doing!  Click here ... http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,49589.0.html

As you will see, Malcolm helped us when we were going astray, and posed some questions he needed answers to!

cheers

Hey Jan, how did you get to be so lucky!! Which one is your gg-grandfather?

There's an Agnes Couchman Hunter born 19 August 1891, Tunbridge Wells, died August 1989 aged 98.

I thought she might have been last of the line - but obviously not!

Hi Boongie Pam
I seem to remember that in 1881 although she was a visitor - her brother lived next door to where she was visiting ??

Nope......this is far more exciting than writing essays....

Stephen and Elizabeth Couchman had a further 3 children...
Hannah Couchman - Born 24th June 1790 in London
Thomas Couchman - Born 3rd July 1791 in London
Stephen Couchman - Born 9th March 1794 in London

I also think that Elizabeth Fenn (married William Couchman) was born to James and Elizabeth Fenn on February 17th 1784 and christened on March 7th 1784 in St Alban Wood St, London.

Have fun looking through all your notes this afternoon Jan, you really don't know what you're in for yet!!  I just wish some one would pick one of my ancestors - I'm totally stuck!!

Have fun!
Love

Yes Jan, you're right - Edward C. Hunter was at 61 Parkhurst Rd and Florence was visiting her sister (I reckon) Elizabeth F. Connolly at 59 Parkhurst Rd.

Ros

It will be interesting to see if we come up with stuff you didn't know before!

Could this be Richard Hunters birth....?

RICHARD HUNTER
Christened on 29th April 1814 at Warcop, Westmorland, to Henry and Jane Hunter.
I'm guessing that WARCOP and WARCROFT (1881 census) are the same place?

If so Henry and Jane had possibly 4 other children....
Henry Hunter - Christened 26th December 1811   Warcop
Margaret Hunter - Christened  11th November 1816 Warcop
Ann Hunter - Christened 25th July 1819 Warcop
and possibly
Robert Hunter - Christened 24th Feburary 1822 Kirkby Stephen.

Jane and Henry married on the 25th February 1808 at Crosby Garrett, Westmorland.  Jane's maiden surname was Gibson. Henry was 33 years old and Jane was 29 years old when they married.
