ww2 royal artilery soldier

Hello folks, its been a while since i was on here, i am trying to research my grandfather, Wilfred Laybourn, he was a pre war territorial in the 177th AA Bty ( TA), then when war broke out was attached to the 63rd HAA Bty, posted to ceylon, then india.

He was born in Seaham, County Durham, survived the war.

If anybody has any info, photos or records relating to my grandfathers regiment or movements, i would be very grateful.

You can obtain his military records from the MoD. It costs £30 and takes several months.

Hello, forgot to say that i already have my grandfathers service record, very informative, i was just trying to obtain a little more info on where they were based, any records or pictures of soldiers accounts, relating to my grandfathers regiment.

Have you explored the possibilities of the Regimental Museum and Archives?

If you search the National Archives' catalogue you may well find unit War Diaries, though they are unlikely to name any Other Ranks.
