It was interesting to see the Hall case. I did wonder where the money was - I assume Celtic Research will have checked it out. IIRC from a National Archives podcast I listened to a while ago money in chancery doesn't grow so I hope that's not the case here.

Yes, it was a small bit of luck, that line wasn't going to add to my own confusion.(Altough it did for a few years).... My great Aunt had picked up the original paperwork from the courts in 1933 and tried  to find the link....... I inherited the paperwork in 1995, so thought I would have a go too.  But, even with everyones generous help, still wasn't getting anywere, so invited Saul to pick it up.

Happy to see another set of researchers getting to grips with things, think this is the oldest 100 years + piece I've seen on H.H.

That is one Hall out of the way. Unfortuntely, I am still left with heaps of others, they really were  a mysterious  lot. Don't know if I will ever get to the last of them.
I will not give up, just keep going, picking up each one in turn, adding bits as I go along.

Still have one huge stumbling block. Thomas Hall b 1819. and his Grandfather Thomas Hall.17??

In this case, the funds were placed in an unusual way, don't know if they do it now, but to the rightful heirs, there is interest to be added, so more than the original £390 approx originally in Trust.

Lovely to share this with you all.

Just love it although I should be really busy at the time it is shown here i.e early am cannot help but put tv on in kitchen to watch. Washing machine & dish washer can wait 45 minutes.

I find some stories so very sad, when one person dies unaware or chooses to walk away from family. It merely reinforces the fact that at the end of the day family is all we have.

Money can only pay the bills, family keep you company and put a smile on your face.

Me too,

Every morning I surrender to the call, fighting the need to clean the windows! By the time the show ends, ooohhhh I can't do them now, the sun (rare as it is) will only cause them to smear.
Could do them weekends, but far more exciting things happening. More hunting of my own.LOL

So, thank you H.H, I hate cleaning windows.

Thursday's prog included the "unsolved case" of Pattie Fenella Lawson.

A quick search of the BMDs leads to the conclusion that her parents were Frank Herbert Lawson (1898-1948) & Phyllis Sophia Ormand (1900-1978) who were both born in Halifax reg district, married and died there too. Both had siblings in 1911.

So why have the professionals been "unable to establish who her father was" ? Was some terrible error made on her birth registration?
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.

Almost certainly because the value was much to low for anyone to work on it. Most of the cases on the BV list are very small indeed.

Tomorrow (Friday 23 29 March) is the last of series 7 - next week seems to have repeats of both series 4 & 6 at different times so those who've set recorders may want to check what (if anything) they will get then.

Edited to correct date  :-[
