Dublin Court Petty Sessions 1880-1910
« on: Monday 04 March 13 08:39 GMT (UK) »
Is there a site I can access to view Dublin Court Petty sessions records.  This is in relation to an incident that happened in the Strawberry Beds near Lucan in the period 1890-1910.  As this area I would imagine was deemed to be in Co. Dublin, would there have been been a local court in Lucan in that period where these records would have been recorded?  Any assistance would be appreciated.

FindMyPast.ie seems to have a collection of Petty Court Records. Not sure what sort of detail these
show, but might be worth checking out.

FindMyPast launch Petty Courts records  (Eneclann)
  Irish Petty Sessions Courts     (irish-genealogy-toolkit)

the petty sessions books can be viewed in N Archives bishop st dublin but are a nightmare to research if you havent got the specific date eg date and month, the man in charge said believe it or not that 90 per cent were for dog licences.

Hi Shiraz
The Family search website also have these records online. They give the
basic information e.g. age, address, what the offence was and the record number
for the National Archives. The only extra information in the Archives are the
           personal details of the accused.
                               Hope this is helpful collech.

Thanks for the information Collech, I was hoping there would be information on the actual case on the records rather than just personal data.

Regards

Thanks Daithi

Unfortunately I live in South Africa, so a visit to Bishop Street is not on at present. From what you say the search can be difficult unless you have specific information, which unfortunately I don't have.  Thanks for your input.  Shiraz
