Death/Burial John May Inkpen - after 1911 Census.

Looking for Death or Burial of John May Born 1831 in Inpen and appeared in every Census from 1841 to 1911 living at that place.  Last address in 1911 School Road, Inkpen.  John was a Widower. Wife Emma having died in March 1910.  Any help at all will be appreciated.  Thank you.

The only possible death is on freebmd in 1913 - have you already discounted it because of the age?

Looked at free BMD and found two in 1913 one in Hungerford age 88 and one in Wokingham 83.
The Wokingham age is correct but I would have to think the one in Hungerford more likely as that is the District for Inkpen.  As they say here I am now between a rock and a hard place!

I was referring to the Hungerford one as it seemed the most logical with him living in Inkpen but he should only be 83 so the Hungerford age is out by 5yrs.  I checked the full GRO index in case a 3 had been transcribed as an 8 - but it hadn't!!

The Hungerford John May was buried at St Michael & All Angels Lambourn - but his age is still 88

The Wokingham John May was buried at St Catherine Bear Wood aged 84

There was a John May b 1826 living in Lambourn in 1911 - Lambourn came under Hungerford

Also a John May b 1829 living in Winnersh which came under Wokingham

There are more possibilities in Kingsclere (1923) and Pewsey (1917) - neither are that far from Inkpen, he could have gone to live with a child in either place.

Sincere thanks for the information.  I know for sure John was living in Inkpen at the 1911 Census and so far as I know was in Inkpen from Christening in May 1831 through Census Records from 1841 to 1911 never moved, so I would have to assume that he would be buiried at St. Michaels and all Angels in Inkpen.  He had a Son James May living in Inkpen from Birth in 1854 to Death in 1934.
Another Son and three Daughters all moved to the London area.  I will have to ponder this some more.  Don't really know which way to continue.  Thanks again for your interest.

He wasn't buried in the churchyard at Inkpen unless they forgot to enter it in their burials register (not totally unknown).  Could he have turned nonconformist? There is a small burial ground at the chapel (Methodist IIRC).
