This may be a really long shot but there is a family of covill's in Hull at the right time but I don't know how to view the original transcription: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/75XM-RPZ

Did they relay the information vocally to the people doing the census? It's a REAL long shot but if they did, I am wondering if they misheard Emily for Anna E ? ?

Hmm yeah good point, I was going by the legal age of consent to marry plus a few fibs at a very long shot.

But.. it shows there were some by that name in the area at the right time ish!  ;D

The previous posts show that poster SueH2 has a copy of the 1899 marriage cert showing Emily's father as John and Emily as 24yrs old

The 1891 entry shows father as George

There was some thought on those posts that she was illegit and made up a fathers name when she married.  That is why I am curious about the mention of her sister being Nora

Emily`s sister Nora(h) Grace married Francis James Nicholls in 1910 at Devonport and the witnesses were Charles and Emily Jane Harvey.  Her father was also named as John Colvill (Deceased).  According to her death in Torbay in 1970 she was born 9th April, 1885. Using the free 1911 search on family search it shows she was possibly born Northampton.

Thanks to you all. i have been looking through the links you have all sent, Just to follow up on the info I already have.
I have the 1911 census for Emily, and is in Devonport with her children  Alice and Charles.
I have her husband Charles in the 1901 and 1911 censuses on  board navy Vessels.
Her sister  Nora is also in Devonport in the 1911 census, she had married a Francis Nichols in 1910 and he was actually also in the navy also shown on 1901 and 1911 censuses, in fact he was on the same vessel as charles in 1901, so it could be that Charles Introduced Francis to his wife,s sister, but we will never know that fact.
The wierd thing is that on the 1911 census Nora has her place of birth as Town, Northampton ?
on the 1911 census for Emily she does show her birthplace as Hull, which does make sense as her husband Charles was born in Driffield only 20 miles away.
