John McNeil born 1802 Dunblane. Father John McNeil. Siblings Daniel born Dunblane 1799, Peter born Dunblane 1796. Married 1828 at St Ninians to Jean Ferguson. Second marriage to Elizabeth Gillespie 1853 at St Ninians. Occupation saddler.

Is it possible to find his mother's name from this information, or any additional information about his father?

He's shown as saddler aged 35[rounded down] with Jean on the Freecen 1841 census of St Ninians (no children).  On the 1851 census he is 48 and Jean 52 same place Dumbarton Road St Ninians now a master saddler employing 2 men.

What census data do you have?

Did he live until after 1855?  Your best hope of getting his mother's name is from his death certificate (if the informant knew) - though I'd guess that his mother's father was "Daniel" from his siblings names, a pity they didn't have any daughters.
