Hereford Gaol
« on: Wednesday 27 February 13 22:25 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can help me with prison records, account of the trial or perhaps even a newspaper report.

I am researching William Pritchard age 16 years who in the 1881 census was in Hereford Gaol.  He was born in Walterstone and lived in Longtown/Clodock.  Would like to find out why he was in prison.  He was out of prison by 1891, married and had one child.

Would be grateful of any help or advice.

Linda

Have sent you a message Linda but I can't read everything it says.

There is another entry for a William Pritchard 16 Oct 1882 Herefordshire assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm but don't know if this is also your William.

Oh and another entry 28 July 1883 Herefordshire arson stack.

And again 13 October 1876 larceny 6 months hard labour.

There are a couple more entries as well but when was your William born?  He may have been too young to be all of them (hopefully!)
