return of Matthew Sullivan on the Carmania - Liverpool to Halifax - on 17 Mar 1919.  #3034614.  His destination was Montreal although it did say to "mother".

Can you give us the names of the parents?

PB
British Home Children are very special.

We search for information but it is up to the thread owner to verify that it is correct.

Thanks everyone for all the info - it certainly gives me a lot more to look into!  The parents were Matthew and Susannah Sullivan from West Derby, Liverpool.

A 21 yr old 5'2" bushman with a saddle nose certainly conjures a picture and sounds like one of my lot!  Any clues what a bushman did?!

Yes, it would be the same.  Haileybury is quite close to the Quebec border.  Here's a bit of information on the the Town, now known as Temiskaming.

Here's another link on the History of Haileybury and the great fire of 1922

Bushman on military records could mean he worked in Sugar Bush

Maple sugar trees.
