I'm probably being blind, but I am not finding much of use when I search online for a Worcs Parish Map. Please can someone point me to one. Thanks.

There is this one from family search which overlays the parishes onto a modern or historic map. http://maps.familysearch.org/

The downside is that today it is not working correctly ::)  So you could try it later or tomorrow.

Hi,

You don't say what time period you need the map for.  Modern maps, say post 1850, reflect the changes of industrialisation.  If you are looking before the 1830s the Phillimore's maps may be what you need.

http://www.parishrecord.org.uk/phillimore.htm

Tithe maps, usually made around 1840, were very accurate - down to the shape of the privy in the bottom of the garden.  These too covered the whole of the country, and always gave the ownership and sometimes the occupier - houses as well as land.  The full details can be found in the apportionments that were made at the same time.  (Check out your local library or record office.)   However, in built up areas, there may be poor correlation with the 1841 census, due to families being on the move to find the cheapest accommodation.

Hope that helps

Mike

Thanks Mike.  I am interested in Pre-1850. The Phillimore map would be perfect, if it was online?
