I have researched this family all day and found that Rebecca McCourt's maiden name was Watts. I am still no closer to finding the Jenkins surname apart from her children, maybe they were illegitimate? I haven't found Luke Madden's death cert either perhaps he did die at sea?  :)

I don't know whether I am off the track but how about this? Why couldn't Rebecca have been married previously and Ellen and Mary be by the first husband. Have I lost the plot?

Rebecca's birth place correct as is Eleanor's (Ellen?) Jenkinson wrong in this census or shortened to Jenkins in following censuses.

who is she with ??  and where ??
so she was 22 when she married

I have just taken a look on ancestry to see if there are any public trees on there.  There are but I think they have gone back down the wrong line. This is their 1851 census
HO107/1858/649/29
Cattistock Dorset.
John Watts 58 born Dorset
Elizabeth Watts 51
Mary Ann Watts 19
Charles Watts 17
Henry Watts 15
Thomas Watts 8

There is no mention of Rebecca's first marriage either.
They also have John Watts born Dorset marrying an Elizabeth Dunford in Dorset on 1 July 1816.
Needs to be examined closely.
