Passenger lists, England to USA
« on: Friday 22 February 13 14:07 GMT (UK) »
My ancestor emigrated from Liverpool to the USA on board The Wyoming in 1887 or 1888.  Does anyone have access to the passenger lists for that period?

Ellis Island opened in 1892, so if the person sailed to New York prior to that, you would need to check www.castlegarden.org.  The passenger lists from that time frame usually give little information.

As a first step, you need to try Castle Garden which includes many [but not all] entries at New York up to 1892, after which the entries were registered at Ellis Island.  There are some other passenger lists available at FamilySearch  - Philadelphia, Boston, New Orleans, etc. - but they aren't all indexed.

Wisconsin:  Ennis, Chapman, Logan, Ware
Maine:  Ware, Mitchell, Tarr, Davis
