Most appreciated - still can't pin down a family with this number and age arrangement of children but the dating evidence narrows it down.

Can I have your opinions as to whether you think this family would fit the date/ages.
John  born 1886
Bertha 1890
Florence 1892
Albert  1894
Arthur 1897
Percy  1899
Dorothy 1900
& mother Julia born 1864.

I think that would fit, and place the picture c 1904 -

John aged 18
Bertha aged 14 (sitting next to her mother)
Florence 12 (back right)
Albert 10 (back centre)
Arthur 7 (far right)
Percy 5 (far left)
Dorothy 4 (centre)

And I think Bertha will be 14, as her hair is up, showing she's a grown up.

There was another son (who died in infancy) between John & Bertha so this would also explain the age difference between the oldest two siiblings.
