You say you "think" your parents married in 1963/64. That is easy enough to check http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
Be prepared though for anything you may  discover. With this searching into lives, we sometimes uncover things our families would rather have kept hidden.... :-\

Unfortunately freebmd has only just got to the 1960's and is far from complete for this era.

You will need a subscription site to check for a marriage if there isn't an entry on freebmd.

Larkspur, that's why when you find these things best kept hidden you bite your lip.
There have been several threads about this already; what is the right thing to do etc.
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

Bite my lip..... ??? So I should make an executive decision and not tell "what I think is best kept hidden" How do I know what others may want "kept hidden".
We do not, I hope, go into this blindly and we know there are maybe going to be  bodies in the closet at some stage. Some people even enjoy that aspect. I have found many in mine and yes some were shocking. But would I want them to be hidden from me? Absolutely not, everything I have found has put skin on the bones of my family, and after all is that not what this is all about, and not just empty name collecting. I have found out things about my  family, that has explained a lot of past behaviours for me, I would not have missed that for the world.
As for anyone else, that is their decision if they want to find these things out. If they ask for help, I will try my best. I will not push things.I will tell them everything I find.
I will not look  unless someone specifically asks me to.
 Their decision, not mine .
I was not discussing the "right thing to do", just pre warning of possible suprises that may be found.

Yes I tend to agree with Larkspur on this it is what I consider to be my family history and I find it all very exciting and adds flesh to the bones  :)

Hi All.

I thought I would look up my son's birth on Anc**** as we had a middle
name added before he was a year old in memory of my mother-in-law's
brother who died.

So by looking up his original birth names he can not be found, but adding the
extra initial his entry is listed.

The original image though shows just his 2 fornames and surname.

Why they indexed it that way goodness knows.  :)

Larkspur, it was not intention to criticise you. I was referring to the comment about telling other family members. I have unintentionally upset others in my extended family circle by telling them about some of the things I have found. I am of the same mindset as you, the more I find out about these ancestors is the more I feel I come to know them almost. Good or bad, it doesn't matter to me; I have even been saddened by some things I have found, but it still fleshes out my family tree.
Unfortunately, not every one feels the same, so unless I am specifically asked, I don't always share info any more.
Once again, apologies if I caused offence.
