Combe Look-up Request 1823 - John Smith
« on: Tuesday 19 February 13 09:44 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I would be very grateful if anyone could help me please.

I am aware of a marriage between John Smith and Jane Ireland at Combe 3/3/1823.      John is said to be "of Burbridge" which is probably a mistake for "Curbridge", near Witney.     Can someone please look up the PR for this marriage for me as I want to try to find any other information that may be there(occupations, ages, fathers, marital statuses, witnesses, Jane's parish, etc etc) to try to confirm that this John is indeed my John and also to see if Jane came from this or perhaps a nearby parish.     (maybe her baptism will be in Combe too!)

Thank you very much

Mick

Thank you very much Sue.     I think the Curbridge note confirms what we thought and the OTP for Jane is helpful, albeit maybe not so much - we already have her on four different censuses with three completely different birth places and ages - Stchingwell (never heard of it!)Wilts, Milton Oxfordshire and Hampshire plus "in county = Oxon) for 1841!!   Will have to investigate Mathea  (that's a funny name - maybe Mathew or Martha derivatives, I suppose) Smith - he or she does not ring any bells.

I appreciate your help and thanks for looking for the baptism too - that was kind.

Regards

Mick
