Did George and Alice Rogers come from Buckinghamshire?
« on: Monday 18 February 13 20:41 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on this couple?

George and Alice Rogers appear in 1777 baptising children in Marston St Lawrence Northants.

I know they didn't marry in Northants and also George wasn't baptised in Northants.

There are some online family trees which suggest Alice was nee Richardson and they came from Buckinghamshire.

George was born c1752.

I won't copy the online information but I wonder if anyone has any PR records that would fit in with a marriage and baptisms?

Hi
According to the entry in Vol 4 of Philimores Marriages for Chalfont St. Giles:

Geo Rogers & Alice Stevens married on 15/02/1777.

Looks about right, i guess as you have the baptism dates you can see if this is too early or too late?

As you probably know, Philimores does not give any other info.

Hope this helps

Hi I've not been getting notifications of replies, so sorry for the delay.

I am as convinced as I can be so far back that the Rogers/ Richardson marriage is correct.

I have worked on naming pattens, not much else I can do with so little information. Thanks anyway for your look ups.
